Voices of Saanich: Wendy Wickwire
The Voices of Saanich is a very apt name for Wendy Wickwire's career as an anthropologist who has delved deeply into the oral history that inspired BC's indigenous people for millennia. Her most recent book, At the Bridge, is a biography of ethnographer James A. Teit. A tireless Indian rights activist, Teit spent four decades helping British Columbia’s Indigenous peoples in their challenge of the settler-colonial assault on their lives and territories.
Join the Saanich North and the Islands Green Party Riding Association for what promises to be an insightful discussion into the history, people, and language of those who came many years earlier to the lands on which we live.
Instructions for joining the call will be emailed close to the event.
