RavenSpace Launch Celebration

Wednesday, September 18, 2019 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Liu Institute for Global Issues, xʷθəθiqətəm(Place of many trees), UBC Point Grey Campus.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of RavenSpace, a vital and innovative multimedia publishing platform, where Indigenous communities and scholars can work together in open collaboration and in a culturally respectful digital environment.

We look forward to featuring RavenSpace’s inaugural publication, As I Remember It: Teaching (ʔəms tɑʔɑw) from the Life of a Sliammon Elder, by Elsie Paul, in collaboration with Davis McKenzie, Paige Raibmon, and Harmony Johnson, and to introducing you to the forthcoming publication, Ka̱ns Hiłile (Making It Right): A Collaborative Reframing of Kwakiutl Film and Audio Recordings with Franz Boas, by Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse with Coreen Child, Kaleb Child, and Tommy Child of the Kwag’uł First Nation.

Please do come and join us for this celebratory gathering, surrounded by good company, lively discussion, and delicious food! A complimentary drink ticket will be available at the door.

Reception begins at 6:30 pm and presentation at 7:00 pm.
