Sisterhood of the Spectrum

An Asperger Chick's Guide to Life

Jessica Kingsley Publishers

Spectrum girls, ever wished you had a handbook to help you navigate your way through the confusing world of teenage girlhood? Jennifer Cook O'Toole’s inspirational guide to life for teenage girls with Asperger syndrome covers everything you need -- and want -- to know. From body shapes and love interests to learning to love the unique 'You', it will be your perfect companion on the road to womanhood. With inspirational quotes from well-known, female Aspie voices, including Rudy Simone and Robyn Steward, this book will make you feel empowered both as a growing woman and a shining Spectrumite.

Jennifer Cook O'Toole was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in adulthood, and is the mother of three young Asperkids. She is the founder of Asperkids LLC, a multi-media social education company and is an international speaker on Aspie issues. She previously worked as a social worker, and a teacher in both special needs and mainstream education. In 2012 she was honored with a GRASP Distinguished Spectrumite Medal, as well as a Temple Grandin Award. She is the author of Asperkids, The Asperkid's (Secret) Book of Social Rules, The Asperkid's Launch Pad, The Asperkid's Not-Your-Average-Coloring-Book, and The Asperkid's Game Plan, also published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. She lives near Charlotte, North Carolina.
