Book Launch & Jazz Show: Live at the Cellar
You are invited to join musicologist and author Marian Jago and Toronto’s Bob Brough Quartet at Frankie’s Jazz Club, Vancouver’s home to live jazz and blues. Marian Jago will open each set with a few words from Live at the Cellar: Vancouver’s Iconic Jazz Club and the Canadian Co-operative Jazz Scene in the 1950s and ‘60s, the first book to document the rise of co-operative jazz clubs in Canada, including Vancouver’s very own venues: the “original” Cellar, the Black Spot, and the Flat Five.
The Bob Brough Quartet features Bob Brough on saxophone, Adrean Farrugia on piano, Artie Roth on bass, and Terry Clarke on drums.
